Import PowerPoint slides

As some of you make use of PowerPoint for your presentations, we have added a feature to import images from a PowerPoint presentation as slides in Demo Time. This feature is useful for those who want to use Demo Time for their presentations but have already created their slides in PowerPoint.

In this part of the documentation, we will explain how to use this feature.

Export your PowerPoint presentation

To use this feature, you need to export your PowerPoint presentation to images.

You can do this by following the steps below:

  1. Open your PowerPoint presentation.
  2. Go to the File menu and select Export.
  3. Select Change File Type.
  4. Choose jpg or png as the file type.
  5. Select to save every slide as an image.
  6. Set the image dimensions to 1920x1080 pixels (lower will decrease the image quality).
  7. Choose a folder to save the images in.
  8. Click Export to save the images.

Import images as slides

Once you have exported your PowerPoint presentation to images, you can import them into Demo Time as slides.

To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Open your Demo Time project.
  2. Open the command palette (Ctrl+Shift+P or Cmd+Shift+P).
  3. Type Demo Time: Import PowerPoint Images as Slides and select the command.
  4. Select the folder where you saved the images.
  5. Click on the Select folder with PowerPoint exported slide images button.
  6. Choose to create a new demo file, or only import the slides.
    • When you choose to create a new demo file. All the slides will be added as demo steps and you are ready to present.
  7. Let the import process finish.
    • If you choose to create a new demo file, the import process will open the new demo file.
